Gastric Bypass Surgery Patients
My name is Derek and seven months ago I made a decision which changed the course of my life forever. I have been an overweight person as long as I can remember. I never ate more than the other kids but I gained more and more weight each year. By the time I was 18 I weighed 350 pounds. By 21 I weighed 395 pounds.
I did some research and was referred by a friend to Dr. Marvin. By the time I left the seminar I knew I would take action and not let my weight control my life anymore. I was a prisoner in my own body and was dying for a way out. After fighting with my iron levels for two months, I arrived at Renaissance Hospital to take on a procedure that I had only dreamed about months before.
A month after my surgery I lost 45 pounds. After three months I lost 95 pounds and had never felt better.
I learned more about eating foods in small portions, maintained a healthy diet and exercised. So far I have lost 150 pounds, 12 inches from my waist and gone down 3 shirt sizes!
I can now do anything and will go wherever life takes me. I look and feel like a totally new person. Words will never express the gratitude I have for Dr. Marvin and his staff for saving my life and showing me how to be the smaller person I am today. All I want to say is "Thank you" and that they should keep smiles on their faces knowing that each day they work to save the life of another obese person. I am now working with Dr. Busselberg, a plastic surgeon, to have my excess skin removed from all areas of my body.
I claim that today I am a new person!
