Michael
L. Green Jr., M.D. is the Medical Director of the Dallas
Obesity Surgery Specialists' office and Obesity Surgery
Specialists at Renaissance Hospital in Dallas. Dr. Green
attended Prairie View A&M and went to medical school at the
Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his
residency at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine
in Peoria and went on to complete a Fellowship in Advanced
Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery at Providence Hospital -
Howard University, something only a select few bariatric
surgeons have done. His passion and dedication to the field
of bariatric medicine has served him well as he participates
in key leadership positions as a member of the board of
directors within the Texas Association of Bariatric Surgeons
organization and American Physician Insurance Exchange.
Through his affiliation with Ethicon Endo-Surgery, he
continues to strive for excellence by training other
surgeons in the field of bariatric surgery. He has served as
Bariatric Medical Director at 2 Texas hospitals and he has
great experience with bariatric surgery, performing the
laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric Bypass and the Lap-Band. Dr.
Green has performed over 1000 bariatric procedures.

Matthew
V. Westmoreland, M.D. has been practicing general
surgery for over 26 years in Dallas. He is a graduate of
Southern Methodist University and then attended the
University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
Dr. Westmoreland has been a partner with Dr. Vanderpool and
Dr. Arnold in Dallas since 1989. His goal is to provide
efficient, quality medical care in a timely compassionate
manner. The great work of Dr. Westmoreland has been
recognized by both D Magazine and Texas Monthly Magazine.
From 2001-2007 D Magazine recognized him as one of the “Best
Doctors in Dallas” and from 2005-2007 he was named to the

Dr. Westmoreland always carries himself as a professional

Barker, M.D. began his undergraduate studies at
Southwest Texas State University and completed them at
Eastern New Mexico University, where he graduated magna cum
laude. After completing his medical education, internship,
and general surgery residency at Texas Tech University
School of Medicine, Dr. Barker began a private practice in
1996. In 2009, Dr. Barker co-founded Forest Park Medical
Center, a full-service acute care hospital in Dallas/Ft.
Worth. He is board certified by the American Board of
Surgery and is affiliated with the American Medical
Association, Texas Medical Association, Dallas County
Medical Association, and the American Bariatric Society. He
is also a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and
completed a preceptorship sponsored by the American Society
for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Dr. Wade Barker is one of a select few weight loss surgeons
to perform both the LAP-BAND procedure and the Laparoscopic
Gastric Bypass (Roux-en-Y) He has performed over 2500
bariatric surgery procedures in the Dallas Metroplex.
